Whether you have never used a sewing machine before or are returning to sewing and want to refresh your machine skills, this easygoing one-day course is for you.
During the day I will guide you through making an attractive and useful tote bag you can use again and again. All equipment such as sewing machines, scissors, patterns and materials are provided as well as expert guidance and inspiration as you work on your creation. The day will be very flexible to allow everyone to work at their own pace. During the morning we will cover the basics of machine set up and sewing, a range of stitches, straight seams and turning corners, moving on to marking, pinning and cutting a pattern. In the afternoon we will cover joining pieces of fabric together and finishing touches to make your bag truly unique.
All materials and patterns will be provided but if you have any pieces of fabric or trim you especially wish to use bring them along and I will happily help you incorporate them.
Sessions are kept to a maximum of 6 people to ensure everyone can learn at their own pace. Groups and parties welcome see the Special Sessions page.
