Get Stitching - Saturday 29th February 10am-12pm
Learn to set up your sewing machine and stitch confidently while working through a simple useful project.
Measure and Make - Saturday 29th February 1pm-3.30pm
Cotton shorts/pyjama bottoms - draft your own pattern using a few simple measurements and create a pair of shorts/pyjama bottoms
Material requirements – 1.5m-2.5m Cotton fabric (to decide how much fabric to bring measure 2.5 times the length from your waist to ankle for pyjamas, or knee for shorts), 2.5cm wide elastic, matching thread
Design and Draw - Sunday 1st March 10.15am-12.15pm
What shapes do clothes need? How do I draw my designs? Young designers will work through a number of excersies that help them understand the design process before moving on to draft a simple t-shirt pattern. Materials and worksheets provided
Make a T-shirt - Saturday 1st March 1.00pm - 3.30pm
Construct a simple t-shirt either from the pattern you drafted in the morning session or from a stock pattern provided
Material requirements – 1.5m jersey fabric, matching thread
